A Year of Giving: Our Donations

As a non-profit organization, SBCGC raises money through our annual Garden Tour, raffle baskets and stepping stone sales. Every fall, we give back. For the year ending 2021, we donated $3000 to several community related gardening and environmental groups. Those included: Audubon Society, Bidwell Training Center Horticultural Technology Training Program, Garden Club Federation of PA Scholarship Fund, Garden Club Federation of PA Sage & Roses Fund (which supports the Blue Star Memorial Marker project), Penny Pines (a reforesting project in PA), the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden and the Zelienople Historical Society (Zelie's Garden project). We are thrilled to help support these amazing programs! In addition, club members were so generous to donate to the Gleaners Food Bank and VOICe center (monetary & non monetary items).

During the months of January & February, our club takes a pause from formal meetings. Members are encouraged to attend Zoom gatherings online, entitled "Small Talks". These hour long programs help keep us connected and informed on various gardening topics.

Mark your calendar for Tuesday March 22nd...as we will begin the gardening season with our first meeting of the year at the Seven Fields Community Center at 7pm.

Be sure to SAVE the DATE: Saturday July 23, 2022 for our 14th Annual Garden Tour. Check out our informational flyer in the calendar of events.
