An Exciting Spring

Our Garden Club has had an exciting spring. Five of our members enjoyed a wonderful time at the 89th Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania (GCFP) Convention. We were thrilled to receive several awards that honor all of the great community work our Club members are involved with. For the second year in a row, we sponsored a young man in college studying horticulture. He was awarded a $1000 GCFP Scholarship. SBCGC was also very proud to nominate Mr. Lorin Meeder, Cranberry Twp. Environmental Coordinator and our Club's liaison with Cranberry Twp. for the Community Garden at Graham Park. Lorin received the GCFP Silver Seal Award. This is a State Award  given to a non Garden Club member for their assistance in helping advance the work of a Garden Club.

May brings a month of celebration as we commemorate our 15th Anniversary as a GCFP Garden Club. We have learned so much and grown a lot in the past 15 years and we're looking forward to many more years to come!

Speaking of looking ahead... On July 13th we will be hosting our 11th Annual Garden Tour. Several private gardens in Cranberry Twp. and Zelienople will be open for touring. Homeowners will be available to answer your questions and offer insight into their garden design ideas. As a special bonus, the Community Garden at Graham Park will also be on the tour. Join us for a fun day of gardening inspiration! Please refer to the 'News' tab on our website for all the details about the tour. Pre order your tickets now at a discounted rate. This event is our only fundraiser and we truly appreciate your support!
